Handwashing is truly the single most important measure to prevent the spread of communicable disease and protect our community. It really is. With the COVID 19 pandemic in full gear, now is a good time to review proper handwashing.
-rinse hands first
-was with soap for 20 seconds MINIMUM
-wash all fingers, thumbs and the back of hands
-avoid wearing rings (great place for germs to hide) and bracelets
-keep your nails as short as possible (another place for germs to hide)
-and leave the phone at home!
If using hand sanitizers
-it must be a minimum of 60-70% alcohol based
-apply enough to fill a cupped hand
-rub, don’t forget your fingers, thumbs, and back of hands
-let AIR dry! Do not wipe dry (defeats the purpose)
Remember, hand sanitizers is intended if you do not have access to soap and water.
We are only as strong as our weakest link!
